In recent years, historians have rediscovered the religious dimensions of the Enlightenment. This volume offers a thorough reappraisal of the so-called “Catholic Enlightenment” as a transnational Enlightenment movement. In diesem Band erortern in zwanzig Beitragen namhafte Philosophen und Theologen aus dem In-und Ausland Fragen der Erkenntnistheorie in systematischer wie philosophiehistorischer Perspektive. Zum einen stehen dabei Grundfragen der Erkenntnistheorie im Blickfeld, wie etwa der grundsatzlichen Frage nach Wahrheit und Methode, Erinnerungsvermogen oder dem der Evidenz. Zum anderen erortert ein zweiter Themenkreis spezielle Themen wie dem der Wesenserkenntnis, Analogie und Personalitat. Ein dritter Kreis umfasst (...)
